There are a lot of rumours and misinformation floating around about hypnotherapy. I’d like to answer the main ones that I’ve come across with my clients. Here are my top asked questions:

Definition of hypnotherapy: “Hypnotherapy is aiding an individual in a therapeutic context while they are in a hypnotic state of mind.” 

In hypnotherapy we talk directly to the subconscious and superconscious levels of mind. It is an educational, self-improvement, self-insight process that facilitates access to your natural, internal resources so you can get to the root cause of issues, feel great and alter behavior patterns to create positive change.

Yes! Hypnotic trance is a natural state of inward focus. In hypnosis you will achieve the alpha brain wave where you will be highly aware and suggestible. You will only accept suggestions that you agree with and are beneficial to you. It is similar to the experience of a flow state. Like being totally absorbed while watching a movie. This heightened state of focus gives your mind more control – not less.

I initiate the process by inducing a state of hypnosis that brings about a deep sense of relaxation. (I do want to emphasize that you will always maintain complete control throughout the session, and your memory remains intact afterward.) In this tranquil state, we will explore the memories that hold the key to your core beliefs – the very beliefs driving your current behaviors you are looking to change.

With your present self’s perspective, we will reevaluate these events, reframing the emotional connection you have with them. Many of these beliefs were formed in your childhood and may no longer serve your growth. After exploring several pivotal life scenes and gaining an understanding of their significance, I introduce new positive suggestions to your mind. These suggestions act as a valuable upgrade, instilling new, constructive beliefs that align with your personal aspirations and life goals. To ensure this transformation takes root in your subconscious, I will provide you with a customized recording designed for your unique journey. You’re encouraged to listen to this recording consistently for a minimum of 21 days.

Through repetition, your mind will absorb and internalize these new suggestions, gradually cultivating a mindset that naturally aligns with your desires. This method ensures that your thoughts become the cornerstone of positive behavioral patterns, guiding you toward the outcomes you envision for yourself and your life.

Absolutely! Hypnotherapy can be performed online just as effectively as it can be in person. A lot of clients prefer online as they will be in the comfort of their homes where things are familiar.

There is no “magic pill” to anything in life, however if you put in the work, you will definitely reap the rewards. There are 3 different ways you’d see change after an RTT® session:

Immediate: You feel a massive shift right away – immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts and behaviors during and immediately after the session. 
Cumulative: You see consistent shifts every day, or overtime.
Retrospective: You do not see the shifts right away, then one day you look back and see all of the things that are different in your life.

Depending on what your challenge is – it can take anywhere from 1 – 3 sessions. Generally it will take 1 session.

Once in hypnosis we will go to the root cause of your challenge to create an understanding of why this belief has been formed. Once the understanding is there, it is reframed and a new belief will be formed to assist your goals moving forward.

The modality I use is called Rapid Transformational Therapy™ – which is basically CBT, NLP and psychotherapy whilst under hypnosis. It is designed to get to the root cause quickly and support your subconscious to release the belief system and add a new one in.
